Ethics:

At Dog “E” Daycare our ethics are very simple; we feel that your pet should have the most positive experiences possible while attending our facility.

Our only course of action when two individuals are not getting along is separation. Our facility has been designed to allow animal’s visual barriers during play times, as well as different locations, and large comfy kennels, to remove individuals from play times to allow them to calm down when over stimulated.

We use a variety of different disinfectants to keep up on our high standard of cleanliness, all which are industry approved.

Trial Offer:

We offer ALL of our new guest a complimentary 4 hour trial period. Even though this is not mandatory before your pets boarding stay, it is the opportunity to allow your pet to meet us and some of the other guests in the facility, and it also allows our staff to ensure that your pet is happy and comfortable in this type of boarding and daycare setting. We strive to be honest with owners about their pets progress and their attitude towards the facility and other guests. We do not want your pet to be uncomfortable or unhappy!

Emergency Contact:

If you are putting your pet into boarding with Dog "E" Daycare please do not use a member of your travel party as your emergency contact. The emergency contact needs to be someone within the vicinity of the Daycare in order to be available in case of emergency medical needs or removal from the facility due to stress or aggression.

Use Of Kennels:

We do everything in our power to match play groups and individuals with the most comfortable and happy situation while in our care. Please understand that even though your pet might not be kennel trained that during the course of the day for introductions, feedings, and down time the use of a kennel may be used at the discretion of our staff. Kennelling is the safest form of separation in times of heightened excitement, and it also allows a visual barrier during feeding times to eliminate any food aggressions. We will NOT keep your pet kennelled overnight or for extended periods unless asked by the owner, or it is left to staffs discretion in a boarding situation (for example if you inform staff that your pet(s) are comfortable in either a kennel overnight or free roam we will judge our other guests to see who has priority for access to one of the large spaces overnight).

Food/feedings:

We absolutely encourage all owners to provide their pets food. We will do mid day feedings for animals, as well as any special treats!

We accommodate for raw food diets, as well as any other special dietary needs.

All dogs are 100% separated for feedings (unless from a family group who "free feed" together). We have many dogs with allergy issues as well as general intestinal issues and we are adamant that no dog will consume items that are not provided by, or approved by their owners first.

Health Issues:

Please let all staff know about any and all health issues your pet faces, and what might set off these issues so we can work with your pet to make thier time here as enjoyable as possible!

Medication:

Any medical needs through their stay in our facility will be 100% accommodated to at no extra charge.

Socially Awkward Dogs:

We understand that not all dogs have been socialized! We know how stressful it is for owners who want to have access to other dogs for their dog to learn and meet. We encourage dogs who have non dog aggressive social anxieties, and unsocial behaviours to utilize our facility!

We do slow introductions with dogs into our groups to ensure a more positive environment. We try to match dogs up with friends who will bring them out of their shells and make them feel more comfortable with a group, or even one on one with another dog.

But if this is not right for your pet and we can sense their stress we will encourage a more relaxed introduction to dogs that is not in a daycare setting.

Please be honest about your dogs interactions in the past. We treat every situation and personality differently and are able to accommodate dogs with any type of "history". we do not judge dogs or owners on an incident from the past but we do encourage 100% honesty to ensure we do not set your dog up for another incident. We do not want to cause undue stress for your pet, our other guests, or you as an owner if your dog's button is pressed.

Removal From Facility:

We want owners and dogs to succeed in their relationship together. We are always honest with the interactions within our facility, and our response to any dog/dog related issues will always be discussed with the owners, and the resolution plan will be open. We will do what we can in all situations to remedy a social issue within the facility, but please understand that some dogs just don't do well in daycare.

We are offering this service to ensure your pets safety through the day, your peace of mind, and a chance to socialize and enrich pets. The last thing we want is to have a miserable dog to set up for failure with future interactions. Please do not take it personal or negatively if we explain to you that your pet doesn't like it here. They just might need a little extra work with dogs in not such an intense face to face situation, or they may just want to hang out at home in peace and quiet while you work. Not all dogs are social, just like how not all people are social beings!

Severe aggression will not be tolerated. We work our very best to match the play groups and we are open about our rotations and use of our facility to move dogs through into appropriate matches. Sometimes dogs just really don't like other dogs. We will contact owner first, and if owner is unreachable then the emergency contact will be contacted to remove from facility.

Breed Specific Rules:

We do not discriminate against any breed of dog. We take each breed into our facility with the breeds traits in mind! We asses each dog individually and make our decisions on play groups, and access to the facility with these observations.
